MV 'Eternal Grace'
These crew members look very happy! After a 9 month contract they are flying home to The Philippines to be united again with their family and friends. I still find it hard to imagine to be away for such a long time. Seafarers often talk about loneliness and missing their wives and children. You can add to that the worry they have of getting a new contract, especially now when the financial crisis is also hitting hard the shipping industry.

A Ship Visit
A typical encounter on board a ship. There are almost always crew members in the mess room, including the cook. The cook is a very important person on board. Good tasting or not so good tasting, food makes a difference in what or how the atmosphere among the crew members is.
