Graduation!

A few weeks ago our youngest son graduated from high school. He is the last one of five and to be honest I am glad all the pageantry/show which is associated with graduation is over.

Winnie and I had to attend the "ceremony" in the Hyatt Inn in down town Vancouver. What a crowd! And what a fashion show it was. Impatient man that I am, we hung around for a while, made a few pictures and Roger, wise man that he is, noticing my impatience growing by the minute, advised us to go and eat somewhere! What a wise decision. We left and had something to eat at the Tim Horton next door. That was the end of the evening for us.

Surely, some of my readers would shake their heads at my impatience.  In fact, I spoke to some parents days after who had attended the ceremony as well and who had a great time that evening - ' different folks - different strokes '

I do think, however, of all these thousands of fathers who are at sea and who would love to attend any kind of ceremony for their children, but who are seldom able to attend things like this....... I meet them every day.  It's a tough life at sea also for reasons like this, things I take for granted!
