Goodbye to the MV Savannah Express

Ships come and go! It happens every day. I see it all the time. As much as I enjoy my work this is the hardest part of the job - always saying goodbye to the seafarers you meet.

However, the same ship does return sometime. Container ships do come back, time after time. After 40 - 60 days they return after a voyage from South East Asia. You get to know the crew and they get to know me. I eat with them and see them again in the seafarer's center. You become friends and it feels you are part of the family.

This week the MV Savannah Express left Delta Port and she will not come back.  It was always a pleasure to board the ship and meet the crew from Germany, Poland and Myanmar.

I wish them God's blessing and protection as they will begin their new route to the east coast of the United States of America.
