Westshore Terminal update

In an earlier blog I wrote about the major accident at Westshore Terminal which happened on December 8. Today I heard the good news that loading will start at the end of this week. That's a stoppage of two months! The conveyor  belt that transport the coal will be operational but the road to the terminal will take four more weeks of repair. There will be a temporary walk way across the damaged part. What that means is that the chaplain will have to do a lot of walking in order to visit the ships at birth # 1.

The ' unofficial ' report of the accident is that the ship increased her speed in order to be ahead of  an approaching ferry. Now that will be interesting during the court hearings. Who is the guilty, the pilot or the captain on board the Cape Apricot?
Every one tells me that ' at the end of the day ' the captain is always responsible!

Below are some pictures, the first taken just after the accident and one I took today.  In the second photo you can clearly see that the conveyor belt has been repaired. I also heard  that the final bill will be more than 50 million dollars!
